We’re a month into 2026, so I wanted to share what I’m planning next and where things are headed.
I took some time to look at what worked, what you all responded to, and what I actually enjoy making. Here’s where I’m at.
New ProBots Challenge
Story. That’s the one word I keep coming back to for ProBots this year.
We’ve spent a lot of seasons polishing the production, and I’m proud of how the show looks. Now I want to put more focus on what the show is really about, the human work behind the bots.
The improvements. The little breakthroughs. The strategy shifts. The moments where a bot becomes meaningfully smarter.
That’s the stuff I want to make easier to see and easier to feel.
Building a Builder Space
Building the VersusAI community, and what I want it to be, has been in constant development.
I want a place where builders can share insights, push boundaries, and build smarter, without it turning into a boring tech support queue.
That’s why the name VersusAI Workshop feels right for rename. It fits the vibe.
Better Path for New Bot Builders
My biggest project last year was lowering the barrier for new builders to create SC2 AIs. That led to the How to Build a Ladder Ready Python SC2 Bot Course.
It’s meant to help people navigate the early chaos of getting started. Honestly, it needs more polish. I didn’t set out to make a full course, but it slowly morphed into one, and now it’s my baseline.
This year I’m going to tighten it up so each phase feels more cohesive and natural to work through.
Making Smarter AI Agents
Last year PiG_Bot pushed me to explore a bunch of areas in SC2 AI, and helped me get a deeper understanding of the space so I could share what I was learning.
The next frontier for that project is moving into machine learning techniques, so I can push my own boundaries, learn faster, and then share what actually works.
I also want to make the project more open to collaboration with folks in the Workshop.
That’s the 2026 direction. Let’s build.
